Tassos Anastasio was attracted to the intricacies of the Iyengar Yoga system in 1996 as therapy for an injury, and found that with its focus on alignment and precision and the use of props to obtain advanced postures without strain, he benefited greatly. With time he realised that his interest in Meditation and Eastern Philosophy tied in with the complete science of Yoga. With the intention of passing on the benefits and joy of Yoga to others he went on to complete teacher training at SKYS (Stkilda Yoga School ) in Melbourne in 2006, and has been teaching throughout Melbourne, Australia for 13 years.
He tops up his own practice with regular visits to the Iyengar Institute in India and regular workshops and classes with international Senior Iyengar Teachers
Vipassana meditaiton practice began at age 23 in a Buddhist forest retreat Suan Mokh Thailand and he repeats these 10 day retreats every 3 -5 years. 8 so far.
